Below is the naming convention we will be using in Veracross. Please follow this naming convention anytime managing School and Church names in Veracross.
- Names should be the full name of the institution (St. Joseph Catholic School, rather than St. Joe's School)
- For most Catholic schools and churches, the name should be followed by the town name to avoid confusion (St. Joseph Catholic School, Libertyville). Public schools don't need this as often if the town name is in the school name already, exceptions would be for schools like: Woodland Elementary School, Gurnee.
- If an organization seems to have a duplicate, but the duplicate has an "attn" in the first field of the address (ex. Attn: Joe Smith), it should remain its own organization. These are used by the Business Office for sending checks. They should not have any "Member" with relationships to the organization, other than the person who receives the check.
- If two organizations need to be merged because they are duplicates, check the members tab of each. Often, people are in the same organization (Ex. St. Joe's), but some call it their school and others call it their parish. These members will have to be moved to the proper destination (school or church) before merging.
